MS EXCEL 2O16 TUTORIAL (MODIFICATIONS IN ROWS & COLUMNS)

HELLO EVERYONE!

So, Let's move on to our tutorial:

MODIFICATION IN COLUMN & ROW

By default, every row and column of a new workbook is set to the same height and width. Excel allows you to modify column width and row height in different ways, including wrapping text and merging cells.

For Modifying Column Width-

1.Position the mouse over the column line in the column heading so the cursor becomes a double arrow.

2.Click and drag the mouse to increase or decrease the column width.

3.Release the mouse. The column width will be changed.

AutoFit column width-

The AutoFit feature will allow you to set a column's width to fit its content automatically.

1.Position the mouse over the column line in the column heading so the cursor becomes a double arrow.

2.The AutoFit feature will allow you to set a column's width to fit its content automatically.

3.Double-click the mouse. The column width will be changed automatically to fit the content.

You can also AutoFit the width for several columns at the same time. Simply select the columns you want to AutoFit, then select the AutoFit Column Width command from the Format drop-down menu on the Home tab. This method can also be used for row height.

Modifying Row Height-

1.Position the cursor over the row line so the cursor becomes a double arrow.

2.Click and drag the mouse to increase or decrease the row height.

3.Release the mouse. The height of the selected row will be changed.

Modifying all Rows & Columns Simultaneously-

Instead of resizing rows and columns individually, you can modify the height and width of every row and column at the same time. This method allows you to set a uniform size for every row and column in your worksheet. In our example, we will set a uniform row height.

1.Locate and click the Select All button just below the name box to select every cell in the worksheet.

2.Position the mouse over a row line so the cursor becomes a double arrow.

3.Click and drag the mouse to increase or decrease the row height, then release the mouse when you are satisfied. The row height will be changed for the entire worksheet.

Inserting, Deleting, Moving, and Hiding the Row & Columns-

After you've been working with a workbook for a while, you may find that you want to insert new columns or rows, delete certain rows or columns, move them to a different location in the worksheet, or even hide them.

To insert rows:

1.Select the row heading below or above where you want the new row to appear.

2.Click the Insert command on the Home tab.

3.The new row will appear at the selected row.

Note- When inserting new rows, columns, or cells, you will see a paintbrush icon next to the inserted cells. This button allows you to choose how Excel formats these cells. By default, Excel formats inserted rows with the same formatting as the cells in the row above. To access more options, hover your mouse over the icon, then click the drop-down arrow.

Inserting columns:

1.Select the column heading to the right of where you want the new column to appear.

2.Click the Insert command on the Home tab.

3.The new column will appear to the of the selected column.

Note-When inserting rows and columns, make sure you select the entire row or column by clicking the heading. If you select only a cell in the row or column, the Insert command will only insert a new cell.

Deleting The Rows & Columns:

It's easy to delete a row or column that you no longer need. In our example we'll delete a row, but you can delete a column the same way.

1.Select The Row or Column you want to delete.

2.Click The Delete Button from the Home Tab.

3.The selected Row or Column will be deleted, and those around it will shift.

Note-It's important to understand the difference between deleting a row or column and simply clearing its contents. If you want to remove the content from a row or column without causing others to shift, right-click a heading, then select Clear Contents from the drop-down menu.

Moving a Row Or Column:

Sometimes you may want to move a column or row to rearrange the content of your worksheet.
let's see how to do that,

1.Select the desired column heading for the column you want to move.

2.Click the Cut command on the Home tab, or press Ctrl+X on your keyboard.

3.Select the column heading to the right of where you want to move the Column.

4.Click the Insert command on the Home tab, then select Insert Cut Cells from the drop-down menu.

5.The column will be moved to the selected location, and the columns around it will shift.

Note-You can also access the Cut and Insert commands by right-clicking the mouse and selecting the desired commands from the drop-down menu.

Hiding Or Unhiding Row or Column:

At times, you may want to compare certain rows or columns without changing the organization of your worksheet. To do this, Excel allows you to hide Rows and Columns as needed
1.Select the columns you want to hide, right-click the mouse, then select Hide from the formatting menu.

2.The columns will be hidden. The green column line indicates the location of the hidden columns.

3.To unhide the columns, select the columns on both sides of the hidden columns.

4.The hidden columns will reappear.

Text Wrapping & Merging Cells:

Whenever you have too much cell content to be displayed in a single cell, you may decide to wrap the text or merge the cell rather than resize a column. Wrapping the text will automatically modify a cell's row height, allowing cell contents to be displayed on multiple lines. Merging allows you to combine a cell with adjacent empty cells to create one large cell.

Wrapping Text In Cells-

1.Select the cells you want to wrap.

2.Click the Wrap Text command on the Home tab.

3.The text in the selected cells will be wrapped.

Note-Click the Wrap Text command again to unwrap the text.

Merging Cells Using Merge & Centre Command-

1.Select the cell range you want to merge. .

2.Click the Merge & Center command on the Home tab.

3.The selected cells will be merged, and the text will be centered.

Access more Merge Options-If you click the drop-down arrow next to the Merge & Center command on the Home tab, the Merge drop-down menu will appear.

From here, you can choose to:
  • Merge & Center: merges the selected cells into one cell and centers the text
  • Merge Across: merges the selected cells into larger cells while keeping each row separate
  • Merge Cells: merges the selected cells into one cell but does not center the text
  • Unmerge Cells: unmerges selected cells

Note-You'll want to be careful when using this feature. If you merge multiple cells that all contain data, Excel will keep only the contents of the upper-left cell and discard everything else.

That's It For Now!

MS WORD 2016 TUTORIAL

HELLO EVERYONE!

Today we are here to talk about some awesome new features of MS WORD-2016, which are really interesting to talk about.

So Let's Start-

Microsoft has created some basic free tutorials to help you how to get started using Microsoft Office 2016.  As the main programming interface hasn’t changed much in this version, the tutorials mostly focus on the the new co-authoring, sharing and cloud integration features now available.
Co-authoring allows you and your colleagues to collaborate on a document by using the real time co-authoring capability in Word and PowerPoint.  This new capability allows you to see everyone’s changes immediately as they happen.  Essentially, you first need to save your documents to OneDrive or SharePoint Online so others can access them.   Next, you invite people to edit the documents with you. When they open and work on the document in Word 2016 or PowerPoint 2016 or on office.com, you’ll see each other’s changes as soon as they’re made.

Microsoft Word 2016 is a word processing application that allows you to create a variety of documents, including letters, resumes, and more. In this lesson, you'll learn how to navigate the Word interface and become familiar with some of its most important features, such as the Ribbon, Quick Access Toolbar, and Backstage view.

Word 2016 is similar to Word 2013 and Word 2010. If you've previously used either version, then Word 2016 should feel familiar. But if you are new to Word or have more experience with older versions, you should first take some time to become familiar with the Word 2016 interface.

When you open Word for the first time, the Start Screen will appear. From here, you'll be able to create a new document, choose a template, and access your recently edited documents. From the Start Screen, locate and select Blank document to access the Word interface.

THE WORKING ENVIROMENT:

Like other recent versions, Word 2016 continues to use features like the Ribbon and the Quick Access Toolbar—where you will find commands to perform common tasks in Word—as well as Backstage view.

THE RIBBON:

Word uses a tabbed Ribbon system instead of traditional menus. The Ribbon contains multiple tabs, which you can find near the top of the Word window.

Each tab contains several groups of related commands. For example, the Font group on the Home tab contains commands for formatting text in your document.

TELL ME FEATURE:

If you're having trouble finding command you want, the Tell Me feature can help. It works just like a regular search bar: Type what you're looking for, and a list of options will appear. You can then use the command directly from the menu without having to find it on the Ribbon.

QUICK ACCESS TOOL BAR:

Located just above the Ribbon, the Quick Access Toolbar lets you access common commands no matter which tab is selected. By default, it shows the Save, Undo, and Redo commands, but you can add other commands depending on your needs.

RULER:

The Ruler is located at the top and to the left of your document. It makes it easier to adjust your document with precision. If you want, you can hide the Ruler to create more screen space.

BACKSTAGE VIEW:

Backstage view gives you various options for saving, opening a file, printing, and sharing your document. To access Backstage view, click the File tab on the Ribbon.

So, There is much more exciting features to discuss but, this is it for Now!

AWESOME FEATURES OF WINDOWS 10

HELLO EVERYONE!

Whenever Microsoft launches new versions of windows I feel really excited to try them out.
This time Windows has launched a brand new version of Windows Operating System which is Windows 10.
Microsoft has also announced that this will be their final version of Windows, no not really this windows 10 will also be updated later on to add some awesome features, but they will not call it the Windows 11 or some sort of stuff.

So, Windows 10 has came up with some really awesome features.

I am here to discuss some of the awesome features of Windows 10...

Let's Start...

1. AERO SHARE:

Aero Share is a very interesting feature of Windows, which allows you to minimize all the open window except the one in which you are working.

Suppose you have opened 4 or 5 window simultaneously but you are working in only one of them, so if you don't want to go and close all the window in the traditional way.

You have to just go to the status bar of the opened window shake your mouse, literally shake it up.
And here you go all the windows are minimized to the task bar.

2. EXTENDED RIGHT CLICK MENU:

As we all know we have a right click option in our mouse to explore things out but, do you know that
there is a extended right click in that same.

If you press SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK you gonna view a extended right click menu, in which some more options are available to explore.

This depends in that application or window in which you are currently working, options will appear on the basis of that opened window or application .

3. MICROSOFT EDGE:

Microsoft Edge is a new web browser introduced by Microsoft which is embedded with your Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System.
I really liked the working functionality of the Edge browser, it is quite impressive and user friendly.
Enhanhnaced appearance makes it look amazing and the new settings have also been added for better
experience.

Out of the other amazing features of Microsoft Edge Browser which I liked the most is that Favorite Bar customization option which is cool. Suppose you are visiting a some specific page very frequently and you don't want to go to the address bar every time but you want something which will redirect you to that website directly than you can do so by adding that website into your favorite bar.

Just go to the Edge browser and type that website name

Now if your websites home page is open ,

go to the Star mark which is in your right hand sides of the browser,

Click on that

go down to the drop down box and select the Favorite option available.

And you are good to go.

4. MINIMIZING THROUGH WIN KEY:

If you have opened so many options on your desktop and you want to see the website right now, but do not want to go and minimize all the opened window one by one then you should use the windows
short cut key to minimize all the opened window and take you to the desktop directly.

Fro this,

Just click, WINDOWS KEY + D

and see you are on the desktop directly.

5. TASK VIEW:

Task View is a feature which allows you to see all the opened windows preview which are minimized to your task bar.

To do so, Go to the Task Bar sections of your laptop,

here you will see first of all the start button 2nd is Cortana and the 3rd one is Task View option,

Go and click that Task View

Here you have the preview of all the already opened windows on a single desktop.

here you can also add some new windows.

So, For you to understand better I am going to link the video here just see the video you can understand better.  AWESOME FEATURES OF WINDOWS 10
